On April 24, 2024, the CPG Cluster conference was held in Nadarzyn as part of Warsaw Pack 2024, where WAY TO AI was pleased to present its thoughts, results of observations on AI and share practical advice on applications and development of artificial intelligence. The event brought together many representatives of the packaging industry, who followed with interest the presentations on AI and its applications in business.<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

The conference began with the organizers welcoming the participants. Radoslaw Dylewski, founder of WAY TO AI, and Jakub Szymanski, team engineer, presented their experiences from the largest AI conference in Europe, WAICF, which took place in Cannes in February. They talked about the activities of WAY TO AI, which has been exploring the possibilities of artificial intelligence, particularly in the field of natural language processing (NLP), for more than a year.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Radoslaw Dylewski explained that the term “artificial intelligence” is broad and context-dependent. He presented AI as a technology that mimics human cognitive processes, emphasizing two main aspects: autonomy and adaptability. AI can operate independently in complex environments and learn from experience, making it a versatile tool. <\/span>AI autonomy means that these systems can operate without constant human supervision. An example is the warehouse management system, creates inventory predictions based on data analysis. <\/span>Adaptability allows AI to learn and improve its performance based on accumulated experience, which is crucial to its effectiveness.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The History of AI: From Turing to GPT – Key Milestones<\/span><\/h5>\n

The presentation included an overview of key figures and events in the history of AI, such as Alan Turing and IBM Deep Blue. Alan Turing, considered the father of artificial intelligence, introduced the concept of machines capable of imitating human thinking. His Turing test became a milestone in assessing the ability of machines to mimic human behavior.<\/span><\/p>\n

IBM Deep Blue, the chess computer that defeated world champion Garry Kasparov in 1997, was a landmark event, demonstrating AI’s ability to analyze vast amounts of data and make strategic decisions. This event inspired further development of AI, leading to deep learning and self-learning machine learning techniques.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recent years have seen tremendous advances in AI, especially in large language models (LLMs) such as the Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT). These models learn from vast collections of texts from the Internet, enabling them to generate coherent texts and perform tasks such as answering questions or creating summaries<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The cited examples of the rapid growth of AI applications in industries showed how the technology is transforming supply chain management, marketing, sales and product development. <\/span><\/p>\n

The next part of the presentation showed practical applications of AI in business. Examples included personalized recommendations, inventory management systems and generative AI that creates new content. Participants were able to see how AI can increase operational efficiency and provide new opportunities in various sectors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Generative AI, which creates new content, opens up new opportunities in marketing and customer service. For example, AI can generate personalized marketing offers, create video content or even compose music. These applications show how versatile and powerful AI tools can be in various aspects of business operations. The item pointed out as an example of such a solution the Gracjan AI project, which helps create social media content and supports the startup’s marketing (it basically generates the coverage you’re reading, for which we thank you).<\/span><\/p>\n

Experimentation and Support: AI at Your Fingertips<\/span><\/p>\n

Radoslaw encouraged participants to experiment with AI, pointing to the availability of tools such as GPT chat and Perplexity search engine. It also emphasized that AI supports, rather than replaces, humans at work. Participants learned how to use AI to streamline daily tasks and innovate in their companies.<\/span><\/p>\n

GPT Chat, which uses advanced language models, enables more natural and efficient interactions with machines. Perplexity’s search engine offers quick access to information while providing sources and citations, which is particularly valuable for research and analysis. These tools show how AI can support various aspects of business operations, from marketing to customer service. <\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the WAY TO AI team shared their predictions, based on a hands-on study of AI technology, pointing out three key aspects where they see the greatest opportunities to build competitive advantage: the power of AI personalization, agent systems, and avatars where as an example they pointed to the Wanda AI project being developed through research within the team<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Jakub Szymanski presented four approaches to using AI: streamlining, cost-saving, development and experimentation, which is the WAY TO AI team’s proprietary knowledge backed by practice. Ka<\/span>Each approach is illustrated with concrete examples of applications in various industries. Participants were able to see how AI can support their business at different levels of sophistication and in different areas of ope<\/span>rational.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Streamlining Approach<\/span><\/p>\n

The first approach, streamlining, includes solutions that help with daily tasks. An example is an HR assistant in the form of a chatbot that can generate contracts, conduct onboarding of new employees and pre-select the best candidates for recruitment. Such tools require little investment, and they can significantly improve work.<\/span><\/p>\n

Savings Approach<\/span><\/p>\n

The second approach, cost-saving, focuses on optimizing processes throughout the company. An example is Toyota, which has introduced AI models to optimize production, reducing overproduction and eliminating unnecessary transportation. AI analyzes production processes, identifying areas for improvement, leading to significant savings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Development Approach<\/span><\/p>\n

The third approach, developmental, deals with research and development, which is essential for companies that want to remain competitive. AI can speed up the testing process by, for example, predicting the toxicity of chemical compounds. As a result, companies can reduce the time it takes to research and bring new products to market.<\/span><\/p>\n

Experimental Approach<\/span><\/p>\n

The last approach, experimental, involves exploring new, as yet undiscovered applications of AI. An example is the structure of multiagents, where AI acts as a team of agents specializing in different areas. Such a system can assign tasks and coordinate work, which sounds like science fiction, but is getting closer to reality.<\/span><\/p>\n
